The Queens Borough Public Library, Elmhurst Branch
I came to know Helen and her husband about 6 years ago when I organized an event as the new manager of the Elmhurst Community Library to celebrate Chinese New Year. My staff, who knew Helen for years asked me to invite the couple to do programs in the festival. I was told that they were nice and talented...
During this day long festival, Helen did a paper cutting program for the children while Mr. Lin, her husband did a calligraphy program for the adults. Together, they also made a beautiful center piece to decorate our auditorium.
Helen is a lady with charisma. She is extremely crafty and artistic. Yet, she is genuinely friendly and down to earth. Her work ethics and professionalism, her attention to detail, her passion for art forms and her willingness to help the community truly impressed me and her audiences. Since then, I invite the couple back every year to do programs in the Chinese New Year celebration for Elmhurst residents and people of Queens at large.
Helen is a real live treasure. She is the type of lady who you would like to be friend with and to associate yourself with. Her dedication and caring spirit earn her the love and respect of many. It is my pleasure knowing Helen and her husband. I wish her bigger success and higher achievement in her pursue of arts and crafts.
